Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Category Manager, Petro Tech through April 15th, 2026 11:59 PM.

The Category Specialist supports digital platform portfolios by executing sourcing and contracting strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving commercial discipline across technology suppliers. This role partners closely with business and technology leaders to deliver value, manage risk, and ensure effective supplier performance. The Category Specialist may also support special initiatives across digital platforms as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Execute category and sourcing strategies for digital platform suppliers, including contract management, supplier selection, and commercial support

  • Support supplier performance management by tracking KPIs, monitoring delivery, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Lead negotiations, RFPs, and supplier onboarding activities to optimize commercial value and manage risk

  • Ensure contracts and supplier engagements align with applicable regulatory, compliance, cybersecurity, and privacy requirements

  • Partner with business and project teams to support successful delivery of initiatives and timelines

  • Develop reports and present data‑driven insights to support category decisions and special projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, category management, sourcing, or supplier management, preferably supporting technology‑enabled or complex service portfolios

  • Demonstrated experience leading competitive sourcing events, commercial negotiations, and supplier evaluations

  • Working knowledge of contract lifecycle management, including MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and supplier onboarding

  • Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to evaluate cost models, benchmark suppliers, and support data‑driven decisions

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging cross‑functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting technology, digital platforms, data & analytics, enterprise AI, or engineering software categories

  • Familiarity with technology services contracts, SaaS/commercial licensing models, and unit‑based or consumption pricing

  • Exposure to application rationalization, supplier consolidation, or portfolio optimization initiatives

  • Experience using digital sourcing or procurement tools (e.g., sourcing platforms, spend analytics)

Relocation Options: 

Relocation will not be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
