Job Description:

The Global Procurement Contracting Senior Manager is accountable for driving global contracting excellence across Castrol by developing, standardising, and modernising procurement contract templates, processes, and digital tools. The role ensures Castrol’s contracting framework is robust, efficient, and aligned with legal, compliance, and business requirements globally. This position also leads change across procurement to uplift contracting capability and support the organisation through transformation toward a digitally enabled contracting model.

The Global Procurement Contracting Senior Manager will also be driving Contract Board Governance to ensure robust contracting process in place to drive the improve value and minimise risk for business.

Key Responsibilities

Contracting Excellence

  • Lead and handle contracting advisory activities across procurement to ensure alignment with contracting principles.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates in alignment to internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Drive harmonisation of contracting processes across categories – providing cross-divisional process standards.
  • Coordinate with the process owners, SMEs and procurement teams to update and standardise contract templates and approach where appropriate, share learning and best practices, and ensure alignment with the end-to-end process objectives and initiatives in alignment to compliances and risk management.
  • Maintain updated contracting knowledge repository (including policies and procedures) and communicate appropriately to procurement practitioners.
  • Work with process excellence team to run contracting knowledge café to support the upskilling of contracting capabilities in procurement practitioners.
  • Handle and oversee the procurement authorities for Castrol.
  • Ensure the annual renewal of signing authorities for procurement contracts are being completed.
  • Lead and drive Contract Board Governance.

Transformation and Change Management

  • Leverage digital solutions to drive innovation, enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and value creation.
  • Partner with internal discipline teams to automate contracting activities and drive efficiency.
  • Use influencing, storytelling and communication to encourage digital adoption and better data quality for decision making.

Team integration

  • Collaborates across procurement with the business and, where appropriate, with suppliers to create a ‘one team’ mentality.
  • Builds region / site / asset knowledge across the wider procurement organization to ensure delivery of their objectives.
  • Develops their technical capabilities and accelerator skills.
  • Embraces psychological safety, and bp values, as a foundation for collaborative learning, ideation and innovation.
  • Compliant with Castrol policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Influences through complexity and ambiguity, managing virtual relationships with stakeholders in multi-discipline, multi-cultural environments​.
  • Builds good stakeholder relationships, bringing market insights and championing supplier value whilst taking time to understand business needs. Becomes a trusted advisor and critical partner to stakeholders.
  • Builds relationships with the procurement teams globally, understanding stakeholder feedback and proactively working to build procurements reputation and ROI.

Essential Experience, Job Requirements & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Legal preferred - or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 15 or 20 years of relevant work experience with strong people leadership experiences.
  • Knowledge of procurement contract management.
  • Ability to develop a quick understanding of business objectives and synergise it with contracting strategy.
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • An understanding of working in and navigating complex multi-national businesses.
  • Track record in collaborating with businesses / stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Experience in leading initiatives internationally, recognizing cultural nuances, analyzing data-driven trends & insights, and employing agile/flexible approaches.
  • An advocate for our code, they incorporate the Operating Management System (OMS) and our safety leadership principles into strategies and everyday work.
  • Brings multiple parties (procurement, business, suppliers) together to collaboratively solve complex problems.
  • Strong senior stakeholder networking and influencing skills to ensure buy in and adoption, building a reputation as a strategic partner to the regions / sites / assets.
