We’re looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to be a trusted technical partner to our regional Operations and Maintenance teams—solving complex problems, crafting engineering solutions, and ensuring our pipeline and mechanical systems operate to the highest safety and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver expert Mechanical Engineering support for pipelines, mechanical equipment, and associated facilities—ensuring compliance with applicable standards such as Canadian Standards Association (CSA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API), and Enbridge standards—while providing technical expertise and engineering assistance to field groups including Operations, Maintenance, and Pipeline Maintenance (PLM).

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Technical Specialists and Mechanical Technicians to initiate, resolve, and facilitate engineering scope development for operating and capital projects.

  • Collaborate with centralized support groups as a liaison for field Operations and Maintenance and represent these field teams on technical committees and working groups.

  • Lead the development of Alternate Isolation Job Plans as per Enbridge’s Safe Work Isolation Policy.

  • Lead and/or participate in event analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Mentor junior Engineers, EITs, and Co-op/Summer students.

Who You Are:

  • Completion of an Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta, P. Eng with APEGA

  • 6 or more years of related industry experience supporting Field Operations and Maintenance, and related Oil & Gas industry activities.

  • You have detailed knowledge of relevant regulations and applicable codes.

  • You have a proven ability to initiate and manage change, think strategically, take a high level of ownership for your work, and collaborate exceptionally well with teams.

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with peers, internal collaborators, equipment vendors and non-technical audiences.

  • Pipeline Operations/ Maintenance and Project Management experience is considered an asset.

  • You will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.

Working Conditions:

  • Office based environment (80%) versus Field (20%).

  • Field related duties including emergency response (20%).

  • On-call duties as the Regional On-Call Point of Contact (ROPOC)
