In this role, you will be the trusted safety partner for our regional teams providing hands-on support, expert guidance, and tactical delivery of Health & Safety programs that align with Enbridge’s strategic priorities. What you will do:
- Provide effective field health & safety technical support day‑to‑day operations.
- Support Regional Leadership in achieving health & safety goals while accomplishing local safety plans.
- Provide effective health & safety support to Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs).
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the GDS Health & Safety Program.
- Deliver select safety training courses and coordinate select third‑party training.
- Lead investigations for personal injuries and preventable motor vehicle incidents; identify controls, develop corrective actions, and support the Incident Investigations team for P3+ events.
- Enter personal injury and motor vehicle incident reports into Encompass.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support implementation, integration, and maintenance of GDS and Safety & Reliability (S&R) Health & Safety Programs.
- Collaborate with the GDS Occupational Hygienist to coordinate and assist with conducting Occupational Hygiene testing (e.g., Respirator fit testing, Noise dosimetry, Lead sampling), as required.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership through regular field visits and operational engagements (e.g., monthly meetings, project support, project orientations/kick‑offs).
- Support people leaders with early and safe return‑to‑work processes.
- Support Real Estate Workplace Services (REWS), as required (e.g., fire drills, Fire Warden training).
- Support the Contractor Safety Management program, as required.
- Advise people leaders on incident severity assessments to support decision‑making within the Drug & Alcohol Testing Process.
- Provide assurance activity support (e.g., audits) as required.
- Act as the local liaison with regulatory authorities (e.g., MLITSD), as required.
Who you are:
You have:
- 4+ years of experience in occupational health and safety along with a post-secondary degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related subject area. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3 years of experience is required
- An acceptable driving record that will be verified upon hire
You can:
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, lead change, manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively and influence without authority
- Show strong analytical, problem solving, observational, research, and report writing skills with outstanding attention to detail
You are:
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels within the organization
- Proficient using computers while showcasing strong adult education, facilitation, and presentation skills
The following are considered assets:
- 4 years of Occupational Safety experience within the Oil and Gas sector and/or the construction industry
Working Conditions:
- Work performed in a typical office environment with travel upwards of 30% of the time within the region
- Occasional overnight travel

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
