Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years of millwright experience with excellent knowledge of maintenance methods in an industrial environment

  • Millwright Diploma (DEP)

  • Fluent in French * please submit your resume in French *

  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite along with

  • Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and develop your team to ensure proper execution of routine and preventive maintenance work, while adhering to Suncor's corporate values, methods and procedures

  • Adopt a customer focus, adjust to frequent changes and make quick decisions to meet the needs of the operation

  • Coordinate work and provide support to our team of contract mechanics on site

  • Organize staffing requirements for special projects, planned shutdowns or vacation replacements to ensure adequate support

  • Conduct performance evaluations of your team

  • Develop new work methods in order to optimize tasks, from the creation of a work notice to completion

  • Work in conjunction with the other millwright supervisor, operations, the mechanical specialist and the planning department for continuous improvement, or to solve more complex problems

  • Prepare, lead or participate in various meetings such as daily schedule meetings, monthly safety meetings or multidisciplinary meetings

  • Administer work according to the collective agreement in place


Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

  • Hours of work are daytime regular 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime during major breakdowns, unit shutdowns or weeks on duty

  • Ability to work in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor in a variety of weather conditions year round, as well as the ability to work at heights

  • This role is designated safety sensitive
