The Opportunity
Our Market Risk Analytics team plays a critical role in advancing risk insight, decision support, and governance across a diverse portfolio of commercial marketing activities. As Manager, Market Risk Analytics, you will contribute directly to TC Energy’s ability to assess and manage market risk across power, natural gas, gas storage, treasury and related marketing businesses.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of quantitative risk analysis while overseeing the development, enhancement and maintenance of market risk models and analytics. You will ensure that risk methodologies remain robust, scalable and aligned with evolving business needs and internal governance standards. You will also support ETRM and integrated systems upgrades and enhancements.
Reporting to the Director, Market Risk within the Risk Management group of Corporate Finance, you will lead a team of quantitative risk analysts and collaborate closely with Commercial, Trading, Treasury and Technology partners to provide independent oversight and effective challenge. You will strengthen risk frameworks, enhance transparency, and support informed decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Do:
Lead, develop and mentor a team of quantitative risk analysts, with full accountability for delivery of the market risk analytics roadmap, team performance and capability building
Set priorities for analytics development, ensuring alignment with evolving business strategies and market conditions
Ensure strong market risk governance through effective middle-office oversight, including position and limit monitoring, P&L and exposure analysis, independent validation of valuations and risk measures
Support the design and refinement of risk limits aligned with the market risk framework and the company’s risk appetite
Seek to resolve or escalate material market risk exposures, trends, and emerging risk to senior risk leadership and risk committees
Translate complex quantitative analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership, risk committees, and non-technical stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of risk methodologies, tools, and data infrastructure
Design and maintain tools to report Front Office exposures, positions, and P&L in partnership with the Market Risk Reporting team and commercial stakeholders; perform scenario‑based analysis to assess potential outcomes and impacts on key risk measures
Drive the integrity and scalability of risk data architecture, ensuring accurate and timely capture of complex physical and financial exposures for new products and commercial commitments
Partner with IS and commercial teams to define and implement upgrades and enhancements to ETRM platforms (e.g. Endur and SAP), and lead user acceptance testing impacting risk analytics
Maintain and update middle‑office documentation, ensuring transparency, auditability, continuity, and adherence to model governance and change‑control standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field
10+ years of related experience in Market Risk, Trading, Structuring, or Treasury within energy, commodities, or financial services industries
Demonstrated experience leading teams or major analytical initiatives in a risk or trading environment
Advanced understanding of market risk concepts, including VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, MTM, P&L, and exposure measurement
Strong quantitative and modelling expertise, with experience handling complex and non-linear risk profiles
Proven ability to communicate complex analytics clearly, both verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proficiency in data analysis, programming and visualization tools, including SQL, Power Query, Power BI, VBA, Python or MATLAB
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with North American natural gas and power markets, including a strong understanding of transportation and storage business models and power marketing activities
Well‑developed understanding of the Treasury function, including foreign exchange and interest rate products
Demonstrated quantitative and analytical expertise, including problem solving and model development
Strong preference for demonstrated experience with Endur and/or SAP ETRM systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross‑functional teams
