Electrician

About the Role

Ensign Energy is hiring licensed Electricians to maintain and repair electrical systems on drilling rigs across Western Canada. This is a field-based role supporting rig operations with electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on drilling rigs
• Troubleshoot VFD drives, SCR systems, generators, and motor controls
• Perform preventive maintenance on rig electrical components
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Ensure all electrical work meets CSA and provincial code requirements
• Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns in the field

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Electrician certification (Red Seal preferred)
• Experience with industrial or oilfield electrical systems
• Knowledge of VFD, SCR, PLC, and motor control systems
• Valid H2S Alive, First Aid, and CSTS certifications
• Willingness to work a rotational field schedule
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract
