Rig Manager

About the Role

Ensign Energy is seeking Rig Managers to oversee drilling operations and rig crews across Western Canada. As Rig Manager, you are the on-site leader responsible for safety, efficiency, and performance of the entire rig operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all rig operations and manage crew performance across both tours
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OHS regulations, and client requirements
• Coordinate with client company representatives and service companies
• Manage rig moves, inspections, and maintenance schedules
• Complete operational reports, cost tracking, and crew evaluations
• Lead safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective actions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years drilling experience with at least 2 years as a Driller
• Valid Well Control certification and thorough well control knowledge
• Proven leadership ability and experience managing rig crews
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• All standard safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Fall Protection)
