We are looking for an Advisor Fixed Assets who will be responsible for ensuring accurate capitalization, tracking, and reporting of capital assets, while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and to support the organization’s financial objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the Capital Assets team during month end close and reporting activities.

  • Able to work well under tight deadlines and constantly reprioritize tasks based on changing business needs.

  • Assist with preparing of monthly reporting, including CWIP, PP&E, depreciation, and subledger to GL account reconciliations.

  • Provide support to various regulatory requests and filings including assisting in rate rebasing requests.

  • Identify and support process improvements, system enhancements, harmonization, and automation initiatives

  • Support Unify (ERP conversion to Oracle Cloud) on upcoming releases.

  • Coordinate with other Finance groups on month-end close, special projects / requests, and lead all aspects of issue resolution.

  • Accountable for internal control activities and audit requests. Understands the Sox controls impacting tasks and ensuring that controls are in place and being followed.

  • Analyze and solve sophisticated problems. Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement in accounting and business processes and procedures.

  • Exercise professional skepticism in methodology and purpose of assignments as well as in analysis performed during assignments.

 

Who You Are:

  • University degree in business, commerce, or related field with four or more years of directly related experience.

  • A CPA or equivalent certification is required.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills combined with a results-oriented mentality while being able to share knowledge, experience, and training with all team members in a non-biased manner.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and system knowledge using querying tools and pivot tables.

  • Demonstrated solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), related systems, processes, and company structure.

  • Independently assess, exercise good judgement, and accurately resolve complex issues encountered in the performance of job duties.

  • Able to complete complicated, non-routine assignments.

  • Proactive and skilled at anticipating problems before they arise and implementing mitigations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with an ability to be persuasive and communicate in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, minimal travel, working towards tight deadlines with reassessment of priorities, occasionally work in regulatory environments, high degree of attention to detail.

  • Overtime is necessary and varies depending on deadlines.
