We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, pays close attention to detail, communicates effectively, and can adapt quickly as operating conditions change. - Respond to alarms, alerts, and abnormal operating conditions in a timely manner following established procedures.
- Communicate system issues to appropriate personnel and coordinate field response activities when necessary.
- Balance daily gas supply contracts and on-system storage by adjusting gate station and storage facility flow rates.
- Support SEMCO's 24/7 operations by working a rotating 12-hour swing-shift schedule and adhering to Fatigue Mitigation requirements. This includes day and night shifts, required overtime, coverage for team members as needed, and approximately 50% of company-observed holidays.
- Document system changes and operating activities in accordance with Change Management, Shift Turnover, Daily Log, and other CRM requirements.
- Complete required control room documentation, including False Alarm Reports, Ambiguous Description Reports, Deviation Logs, and other documentation mandated by the O&M Manual.
- Prepare and distribute routine and special reports as required.
- Primarily work a rotating swing-shift schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent coursework in a technical field preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in the natural gas industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, pipeline operations, and natural gas infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQ) in Gas Control, Control Room Management, and Fatigue Mitigation.
Additional Requirements
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, customers, and management.
- Reside within 45 minutes of the Company's Control Room.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety procedures and promptly reporting hazards.
- Comply with all Company policies, including business ethics, regulatory compliance, responsible use of company assets, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
We offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $26.83 to $38.91 per hour, with opportunities for overtime based on operational needs. Employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, retirement savings programs, and paid time off.
SEMCO is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from qualified U.S. military veterans and service members.
