A Damage Prevention Inspector II is responsible for maintaining the safe delivery of energy to our customers and reducing the risk of damage to Enbridge assets. This role requires a passionate, self-motivated individual to ensure the completion of accurate and timely locates by our Locate Service Providers while providing damage prevention training and education to 2nd and 3rd Party Excavators. A good understanding of the damage prevention industry and the locate process is important.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor performance levels of Locate Service Providers to ensure timely, safe and accurate locate services. Follow up with Locate Service Providers on corrective actions.

  • Provide support for damage prevention investigations which include performing inaccurate locate reviews, supporting claims dispute and resolution. Act as local liaison with TSSA, Field Operations employees, Locate Service Providers and Insurance Services with respect to excavation damages and locate issues.

  • Lead local damage prevention awareness sessions for the excavating community. Support Field Operations employees in damage prevention activities.

  • Implementation and oversight of locate service offerings (i.e., Alternative Locate Agreements, Locate Office/Field Clears).

  • Promotion of the Locate Alliance Consortium, Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance, Ontario One Call, and participation on geographic based committees.

  • Contractor management oversight of Damage Prevention Service Provider.

  • Travel will be required within the geographic area represented by this role on a regular basis.

  • Some overtime will be required to attend presentations, community meetings, and conferences.

  • Utilize risk-based software to conduct proactive site meets with excavators.

Who You Are

You have the following education and experience:

  • Related university degree and 2 years’ experience OR four‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Ability to develop and manage strong relationships and work within a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to think analytically and good organizational skills.

  • Working and technical knowledge of the Damage Prevention and Locate industry is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is comprised of a combination of field (80%) and office (20%) work.

  • A valid Ontario G class driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.

  • Responsible for providing on-call support for Operations with after-hours damages and incidents.

Salary:

  • Ranges from $72, 360 – $95,000 CAD for Ontario Canada locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.​
