In this role, you will provide engineering leadership, governance and technical stewardship for the planning, design, modernization, enhancement, and lifecycle management of industrial automation and control systems supporting compressor stations, LNG facilities, measurement and regulator stations, and remote operating assets.

You will develop engineering solutions that improve reliability, maintainability, cybersecurity, and operational performance while supporting both capital project design and execution along with long-term system sustainment.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop engineering solutions that sustain, modernize, and enhance Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Human Machine Interface (HMI), measurement, and industrial networking systems across natural gas facilities.
  • Lead lifecycle planning, equipment modernization, technology refreshes, and obsolescence mitigation for control systems and operational technology assets.
  • Provide engineering leadership for capital projects, facility upgrades, system migrations, equipment replacements, commissioning, startup, and validation activities.
  • Create and maintain engineering standards, technical specifications, OT/ICS network architectures, control narratives, design packages, testing documentation, and governance processes.
  • Evaluate system performance, reliability trends, and cybersecurity risks while performing advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex operational issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and project teams while providing technical mentorship and supporting regulatory, audit, cybersecurity, and compliance initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, SCADA, or operational technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, HMI and SCADA systems, industrial networks, measurement systems, and communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, and OPC.
  • Experience with control-system lifecycle management, modernization, obsolescence planning, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and operational technology cybersecurity.
  • Ability to lead technical projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, build productive stakeholder relationships, mentor technical colleagues, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based.
  • Moderate travel (~25%) for field visits throughout the service territory to support engineering evaluations, construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspections, and startup activities.
  • Occasional after-hours support for critical operational incidents, commissioning activities, or planned outages.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), walking, climbing stairs, accessing equipment buildings, conducting filed inspections, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:

  • Ranges from $80,500 - $140,000 USD for U.S. locations, based upon the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
