What You Will Do:
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial information supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
- Analyze financial and regulatory reports, including income statement and balance sheet results, in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Communicate financial results, trends, and variances while identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Support internal, external, financial, and regulatory audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Research accounting transactions and assess financial impacts.
- Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders on complex accounting issues, system implementations, process improvements, special projects, and cross-training opportunities.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Hold CPA or equivalent professional certification.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably involving public practice, technical accounting, external financial reporting, or regulated utilities.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, regulatory compliance, financial reporting.
- Technically proficient using ERP and accounting systems such as Oracle Cloud, SAP, SmartView or HFM, along with the Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of business acumen, organizational ability, and analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to develop practical and innovative solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, build effective stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, manage competing priorities, and work successfully under tight deadlines.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with recurring tight deadlines.
- Overtime is required and will vary depending on reporting deadlines.
- Minimal travel (<5%) is required.
