The Opportunity
The Safety and Technical Services US Class / HCA team is seeking an Engineer to join our team and be part of a high-performing group of engineers, technologists, and analysts who are dedicated to pipeline safety and regulatory excellence for TC Energy's US pipeline infrastructure. In this role you will participate in the annual class / HCA assessment of the US natural gas pipeline system for conformance with codes and standards, sponsor remediation projects to ensure safe long-term operations and support the new regulatory requirements with 192.611a4.
The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders including technical subject matter experts, regulatory compliance experts, operations personnel, and federal regulatory bodies.
What you'll do
- Support the review of Class remediation projects for alternative remediation options
- Collaborate with stakeholders including technical subject matter experts and regulatory compliance experts to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations
- Provide technical support in engineering analysis and risk mitigation
- Analyze data, identify trends, and implement short- and long-term plans for ongoing improvements
- Develop and update documented procedures to support the continual improvement of the Class / HCA Program

Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-6 years of related industry engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Canadian candidates, registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the prevailing jurisdiction in good standing (e.g., APEGA in Alberta).
- Understanding of US Federal Pipeline Regulations (CFR 192) and standards
- Experience in audit, assurance, and regulatory engagements
- Experience in developing technical procedures and processes to ensure safety, compliance, efficiency and effectiveness
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a track record of task completion and change leadership
- Excellent communication (written and oral), time management, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Computer skills, ability to learn customized software in addition to SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management experience
- Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS Platforms
- U.S. candidates, registered or eligible for Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the applicable jurisdiction
