The Opportunity
TC Energy is looking to meet the needs of our evolving business and is currently seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team at our compressor station in Ile des Chenes, MB. This position plays a key role in keeping our facilities compliant between audits by ensuring fire and safety equipment, waste areas, tanks, and general facility items are inspected, documented, and escalated.
What You'll Do
- Inspect aboveground and underground tanks (condition, levels, labeling)
- Perform fire suppression and fire and safety equipment inspections
- Complete waste storage area inspections
- Identify physical security issues
- Identify and document deficiencies
- Perform facility maintenance, including snow clearing, grass cutting, trailer and winch truck inspections, and yard upkeep/gravel spreading
- Provide contractor oversight
- Perform routine checks of compressor plants (monitor oil levels, top up materials, identify issues)
- Record hours and perform visual inspections on running equipment
- Provide support to Trades Technicians as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude through work experience (e.g., farm work, maintenance, equipment operation)
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Class 1 driver’s license
- Oil and gas industry experience
- Ability to accurately complete documentation
