As the Inventory Planning Manager, you will lead Suncor’s enterprise-wide materials inventory management function—ensuring consistent processes, strong governance, and continuous improvement in working capital performance. You’ll partner closely with Supply Chain and business units to maintain optimal inventory levels that support safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations.What we offer:

Requirements:
7 to 12 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain management and SAP (MM/BW/BI) and related ERP systems
Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, or Utilities industries
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain, or related field
Strong knowledge of inventory management, MRP, TCO (total cost ownership) supply/demand planning, and material lifecycle processes
Advanced financial acumen related to inventory data (working capital, obsolescence, P&L impacts)
Deep understanding of logistics, warehousing, material planning, and category management concepts
Key Accountabilities:
Lead and manage the enterprise Inventory Management function, set annual objectives and performance targets as well as team accountability
Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, and subject-matter guidance to direct reports and internal stakeholders inventory standards, processes, and best practices
Oversee and resolve issues related to inventory performance, ensuring compliance with Strategic Inventory Management policies and procedures
Analyze inventory data and trends, delivering actionable insights, recommendations, and decision support to stakeholders
Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned with supply plans, category strategies, and overall business objectives
Guide and validate inventory modeling and forecasting activities, ensuring models reflect changes in supply factors, demand patterns, and business plans
Provide oversight of excess, inactive, and obsolete inventory, including reporting, disposition and improvement strategies.
Represent the Inventory Management function in operational meetings to align planning with site operational needs
Partner with buyers and cross-functionally with various business units (within and outside of procurement) to support material availability, operational reliability and incorporate long‑ and mid‑range forecasts into strategic decisions optimizing inventory.
Location and other Key details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
