About the Role

Ensign Energy is hiring Assistant Drillers to work alongside experienced Drillers on rigs across Western Canada. This is a supervisory role requiring strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Driller in operating the drilling rig and monitoring downhole parameters
Supervise rig floor crew including Floorhands, Motorhands, and Derrickhands
Monitor well control equipment and BOP systems
Complete daily drilling reports and operational paperwork
Ensure crew compliance with safety protocols and procedures
Step in as primary Driller when required

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience as a Derrickhand or equivalent
Valid Well Control certification (IADC WellCAP or equivalent)
Strong leadership and crew management skills
Valid H2S Alive, First Aid, CSTS/OSSA BSO certifications
Thorough understanding of drilling operations and well control procedures
