Do you have an interest in plant operations and eager to work in an ever-changing process operator role here in Fort McMurray? In this role you’ll work side-by-side with some of the most talented operators in the energy industry to perform work that supports smooth and efficient operations of our Base Plant Upgrading assets. You will play a key part in Suncor’s Conduct of Safe Operations (CoSO) process, maintaining consistent standards for safety and reliability 24/7.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience in plant operations such as heavy oil processing, sour gas processing, water treatment/power plants or refinery operations
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure
3rd Class Power Engineering certification (or higher)
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
Follow all operating processes and procedures during operations to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and the environment
Prepare and complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings
Provide direction and supervision to the maintenance and contract personnel
Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance and commissioning
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation (3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off; 12-hour shifts)
This position is safety sensitive
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
