Lloydminster Hospital (Saskatchewan): Emergency Room

Medical emergencies near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border need fast access to an emergency department. At Lloydminster Hospital Emergency Room, we serve Lloydminster through Alberta Health Services emergency care and the provincial health system.

AHS is responsible for ground ambulance service in Alberta. That role became part of AHS after the May 30, 2008 announcement from Alberta Health and Wellness, with services moved from municipalities to AHS effective April 1, 2009.

Our emergency department fits into a province-wide network of hospitals, clinics, continuing care sites, cancer centres, mental health facilities, and community health sites. For Lloydminster residents and area industry activity, that means emergency care is tied into a larger Alberta health system.

We handle emergency room care at the Lloydminster facility for patients who need urgent medical assessment and treatment close to the border region.
