About Research & Productivity Council (RPC)

Industrial and environmental process work needs test data before a product, material, or treatment plan can move ahead. At RPC in Fredericton, we provide Laboratories-Testing and applied research services for organizations developing industrial and environmental processes and products.

The New Brunswick Research and Productivity Council was created as a provincial Crown corporation under the Research and Productivity Act on April 13, 1962. That public mandate shapes our role in testing, research, and technical problem solving for New Brunswick clients and beyond.

Our laboratory work includes life science capability and an internationally recognized fish health lab. We also work in industrial research, where test results and technical development help move ideas toward practical use.

Environmental questions can involve process performance, product development, or health-related testing such as radon. Our Fredericton team connects laboratory analysis with research planning when a standard test alone does not answer the technical question.
