Superintendent, Conventional Heavy Oil
About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Field Manager, LTCHO Operations, the Superintendent, Conventional Heavy Oil is accountable for the Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) team’s safety, cost, production, and financial performance. This position leads a team of field operators to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operation of CHO assets in Saskatchewan, producing approximately 15,000 bbl/d from ~800 producing wells, 8 facilities, and supporting infrastructure. The Superintendent Operations is a safety leader, with a specific focus on maintaining industry-leading occupational and process safety standards across CHO.

What you’ll do:
Achieve results through effective and efficient utilization of people, technology, and processes, collaborating across LTCHO teams and ensuring objectives are aligned to the business strategy
Uphold Cenovus' commitment to achieving environmental performance expectations and COIMS as the foundation for CHO Operations’ practices
Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CHO wells, batteries, and field facilities and the safety, production, and cost performance of the CHO assets
Lead and participate in regular audits and incident investigations, improving current practices by identifying and resolving resource / operational problems
Develop annual OPEX budgets and work within budgetary and financial objectives
Identify potential risks and ensure mitigation plans are implemented effectively, troubleshooting assets and supporting resolutions on process upsets
Lead goal setting and periodic review, managing development plans and performance assessments
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Minimum 16 years of relevant industry experience
Minimum 10 years in a coordinator role or equivalent
Minimum 10 years conventional oil and gas field and facility operations experience
Experience in high sour environments preferred

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
