As a member of the TIS Network Services team, the Advisor TIS Network Planning is accountable for the delivery, optimization, and ongoing support of business critical, enterprise-wide network and telecommunications infrastructure. This role is central to enabling the organizations’ technology strategy leading complex initiatives, shaping network standards and roadmaps, and ensuring reliable, high performing connectivity across the enterprise!

You will provide deep technical leadership across projects and operations, parting with business leaders, IT teams, and vendors to design scalable solutions, resolve complex network challenges, and continuously improve how services are delivered. With a solid focus on innovation, collaboration, and strategic planning, this role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise direction while remaining closely connected to hands on technical outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical expertise on complex telecom and network-based projects for business and TIS initiatives 

  • Manage end-to-end technical project delivery, including design, resources, cost, implementation, and closure 

  • Align and implement enterprise IT strategy to support business objectives 

  • Lead and contribute to TIS strategic planning and technology direction 

  • Own technology design, standards, and roadmap development 

  • Participate in enterprise councils and provide technical leadership 

  • Resolve escalated incidents efficiently and support operational teams 

  • Build strong client relationships and develop deep understanding of business systems and needs 

  • Evaluate and support third-party solutions, system improvements, and technology upgrades 

  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, innovation, knowledge sharing, and team development

Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of enterprise networking experience with a 2-year diploma or related university degree 

  • Strong expertise in cloud and enterprise networking (LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, MPLS, load balancers, firewalls) 

  • Solid understanding of multicast/unicast routing, switching protocols, and application flow analysis 

  • Experience implementing secure hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN, FastConnect, firewall inspection) 

  • Proficient in Azure networking and security services (Virtual WAN, Azure Firewall, Front Door, App Gateway, NSGs, Traffic Manager) 

  • Hands-on experience supporting Azure migrations, including hub-and-spoke to Virtual WAN transformations and SD-WAN integration 

  • Knowledge of advanced cloud networking patterns (DMZ design, Azure Landing Zone, routing, security controls, cutover planning) 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams 

  • Ability to travel between Canada and the US as required 

Assets: experience in project/change/operations management and certifications 

Must be eligible to work in US or Canada without sponsorship. Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Salary range:

$80,500-$110,000 USD in US locations.

$81,000 -$110,000 CAD in Ontario

Salary will be based on candidate experience, skills, and internal equity

Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
