The Opportunity
Our Fleet Regional Services team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, and we are expanding our presence in Canada to support our growing natural gas infrastructure
We are seeking an energetic, self-managed technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Compressor Fleet who has knowledge and experience in turbo products as it pertains to natural gas pipelines to ensure the safety, Integrity and reliability of TC Energy's Compression equipment in Canada. This role includes project management of the annual maintenance program, and encompasses the management of the repair, overhaul and maintenance program for the Prime Mover Turbomachinery, and their associated equipment/systems.
This position focuses specifically on Siemens compressor equipment, as OEM-specific experience is critical given the significant differences in design, operations, and maintenance requirements across manufacturers.
What you'll do
· Manage the repair, overhaul and maintenance program of TC Energy's Siemens Turbomachinery and associated equipment/systems
· Initiate and maintain a fleet specific annual maintenance budget
· Maintain fleet statistics, operating history, and coordinate maintenance activities within a Computer Maintenance Management System (SAP)
· Provide Technical Support to regional operations and repair facility personnel
· Vendor relationship with Original Equipment Manufacturers (including Siemens) and Repair and Overhaul vendors
· Work closely with Gas Control, Systems Planning, Procurement, and other internal customers
· Liaise closely with Turbomachinery Engineering to troubleshoot issues with the prime Movers and their associated auxiliary systems
· Write / update maintenance procedures (TOPS) specific to equipment type
· Write and maintain equipment fleet specific parts lists
· Work in conjunction with Turbomachinery Engineering to support the development of equipment Integrity Plans
· Data input and analysis for maintenance optimization plans
· Carry out Unit Health assessments, including the interpretation and analysis of operating and equipment health data
Minimum Qualifications
· Post-Secondary Education in a related field (Diploma or Journeyman Ticket)
· 8 or more years' experience in a related field
· 5 years of experience in the prime mover equipment operations and maintenance space (to include gas generators, power turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating engines and compressors, unit balance of plant and associated systems)
· Demonstrated experience with Siemens compressor equipment
· Proven knowledgeable in compression and operations and maintenance
· Strong understanding of vibration systems, data interpretation, and analysis
· Willingness to challenge traditional industry standards
· Knowledge of Codes and Acts applicable to the above systems
· Able to multi-task and prioritize issues and workload
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Mechanical Engineer
- Certified or Registered Engineering Technologist (CET, RET) certification
- Ability to embrace and lead change
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Stay away from home base overnight (approximately 3 to 5 days per month)
